Wine, Oil, and Civilization: A Journey Through Time Between Taste and Memory

On Sunday, October 26th, in Campagnatico, the Gli Albori farmhouse hosts a unique experience: a blend of culinary archaeology, Etruscan wine, and Tuscan conviviality.
The vine from prehistory, through the Etruscans and Romans, to the present day

The meeting of history, flavors and territory

There is an invisible thread that links the vine to the history of man. You can rediscover it on Sunday 26 October, in the heart of the Maremma, during “Wine, Oil and Civilization”, an event that promises to be much more than a simple tasting.
At Gli Albori – Agriturismo Santa Caterina (Loc. Granaione 84, Campagnatico – GR), you will experience an authentic journey back in time, to discover the origins of viticulture, from the first prehistoric evidence to the Roman era, among ancient varieties and routes of the Mediterranean.

An immersive experience of seminars, brunches and reenactments

The day will be a blend of seminars, stories, and conviviality, where knowledge becomes direct experience. Guests will be able to participate in in-depth sessions dedicated to the history of wine and oil—two pillars of Tuscan culture—and discover how ancient civilizations have transformed the landscape and culinary traditions.

There will be plenty of opportunities for meeting and sharing: a brunch with local products, preparations inspired by peasant tradition and historical re-enactments that will bring the gestures and flavors of the past to life.

Etruscan wine in a dolio: a unique experience in Tuscany

The highlight of the day will be the tasting of Etruscan wine in a dolio, a rare and evocative experience.
The wine, made according to ancient winemaking techniques in terracotta containers, offers aromas and sensations that transport us back over two thousand years. It's not just a tasting, but a true cultural immersion: a way to understand how the identity of a territory is also born from the way in which man, over the centuries, has learned to dialogue with nature.

A place that tells the story of Maremma

Gli Albori is not just any location: it is a place that preserves the profound bond between man and the land. Surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills, the agriturismo is a small open-air museum, where every experience is designed to enhance Tuscan rural culture.
In addition to hospitality, it offers sensory itineraries, workshops, guided tastings, and moments of encounter that allow you to rediscover the most authentic Maremma, the one that unites agriculture, archaeology, and ancient wisdom.
